The Oʻahu General Plan was launched under the leadership of Governor George Ariyoshi to respond to Oʻahu’s concerns with sprawling development schemes from international corporations in the 1970s. Encompassing falues including economic, social, cultural, environment, and historical are also defined.
The Oʻahu General Plan is a versatile and diversified plan that prevents Oʻahu from turning into a big parking lot. It can also maintain Oʻahu’s long-term Economic Sustainability, Aloha Aina, and Sense of Plan. As Mayor, I will offer consistent leadership in Oʻahu’s needed growth, consistent with the Development and Sustainable Communities Plans.
